Back home, we complete all chores and shopping in record time, and recommence walking routines.

Our regular Saturday is often from the nearby La Caleta along La Costa Adeje into the melé of Playa de las Americas. As always we see some sights, both good and bad, but it’s never uneventful.
Sunday we drive to the last place we ended our coastal walk, also La Caleta, but a different one. This one is 40km away, well beyond the airport. We park up, and suddenly realise it’s windy - not just a little bit, almost enough to rip the door from its hinges. We head off north up the coastline, continuing our anti-clockwise walk around the island.
I already expected this one to be tricky as the pathways are quite indistinct (read not many people do this!) but the added wind makes for additional fun - at one stage we struggle over a rock face and are nearly blown backwards. There’s a reason this is the area where all the wind turbines are situated!
We pass through five very small villages, some adorably cute such as Tajao, others less so, before we turn round at La Listada and taking a slightly different path return, st least the wind in our favour this time.
Dinner is simple roast chicken, but I surpass myself on the canapés - tuna pâté, truffle pâté, Serrano ham and prawn cocktail.
