Overnight we make two milestones - last evening we cross the equator, and then in the early hours of today we cross the official line denoting the end of the Amazon Delta and the start of the Atlantic Ocean.
We turn left and start heading up the side of Brazil, which will take the entire day, then alongside French Guiana overnight as we aim for our next destination.
Our day starts as normal, the patio is wet again today, but no problem, business as usual. After which we do 80 laps which is five miles, before we settle down to another sea day.
There is a Galley Market today - that’s when the galley (kitchen) is turned into a walk-in buffet which looks amazing, and always gets lots of patronage. Personally we don’t like public buffets - too much opportunity for unsafe hygiene - witness the times one sees someone leave a toilet without washing their hands! However it’s great to wander round and take photos, before we go up to the pool for a served lunch instead.
The afternoon our laziest yet, poolside, cocktails and then in the jacuzzi with friends!
Another double-show night means we first get the often seen Tim Rice review, although it’s changed quite a bit since we saw it last summer, the ship’s company are brilliant.
Dinner is excellent again, we’re on clam and muscle risotto / scallop and beef rib, seafood broth / artichoke chowder, slow-cooked capon, almond soufflé.
Afterward we get to an incredible magic show - Kristian Grey is hilarious, and mind boggling with his skills. Yes I know it’s all about illusion, but wow, trick after trick enthral and confound the audience.
We finish with the first clear night since starting our holiday, the plough clearly visible from our balcony.
