Previous time in Bandol we turned right and headed East along the coast. Pretty obvious what’s required today, and that’s what happens, even taking a very wild circuit first to cover the beach area, before getting on with our walk proper. We’re tendering again, which gives us great ship photos!

…

The first part is all built-up but before long we’re at a tiny beach, then a bit more path before another beach.
After this, it thins out, with rough tracks, a wiggle through an hotel complex, and down to Plage des Engraviers, a very attractive pebble beach.
Up hill with wild abandonment the path here is very testing, but the next bay is just sublime, and sub-something else too … there’s a rock here called “le sous marin” which is French for submarine, as we pass by it is very clear why.
That’s quite enough for one day, especially as we’re in the wrong footwear for the rough paths, so we volte-face and make our return, breaking for late elevenses by the sub.
Our return seems quicker so we cross town just because we can, before returning to our tender to get back for lunch.
Another lazy afternoon, albeit punctuated by work, ends in the pool for an hour and then it is caviar sailaway time.
Later we dress for dinner, engage in the usual Kir Royal and Bellini at the grill bar, before descending to dinner.
Another excellent menu, tonight: veal carpaccio, oxtail rigatoni, chicken cordon bleu, pork chop, banana sundae and bitter chocolate mille feuille.
Lastly, we get to see the second show of Matt Croke, the Sheffield Boy who’s gone on to make waves in the West End - a truly excellent performance - cannot fault anything about him, except he forgot his socks!!
