Caribbean 2022 - Day 16 - Thursday 27 Jan

Technically sea day number four, but actually number six. We start with breakfast in Club Orange, where we only go on sea days.

It’s amusing that we opt for a Full English as this is one of the lightest choices available, much lower calorific impact than most of the American options. I still plan to have pancakes one day though!!

A couple of hours on aft deck nine gives me the chance to chose the photos and complete yesterday’s blog and post it, cross-posting to Facebook as usual.

Usual five miles before lunch, club sandwich, Chardonnay, FaceTime to Sheffield and then do the remaining miles. Planning for tomorrow in Bonaire, which we left FAR too late but manage to pull it round.

Lovely chat with Susan from Manchester (hubby missing!) and finally it’s pool-time. Our pool-side server brings mojitos today, and soon we’re back for canapés with the remainder of lunchtime’s Chardonnay!

Goodness knows where the day goes. Happily I planned for a sea day photographically, here’s an exposé of many of the public rooms around the ship. This ship is the largest we have ever been on, mostly they are less than half the size. The rooms are often multi-use, not quite distinct like this one. EG Lincoln Centre on a small ship is just one end of a bar! The rock and pianos are the same space.

Starting at the bow low down we find the theatre. It spans decks two and three.

Walking aft-wards, there are several music venues, the Billboard lounge with twin pianist singers, also seen in one of the Company productions, nearby is Rolling Stone rock room.

There are many bars, too many to focus on, but this one is dedicated to whiskey.

The Lincoln Centre also spans decks two and three.

Still on deck two we have the most important parts, Pinnacle Grill and Rudi’s Sel de Mer.

Moving on, we have Blend, a Château Sainte Michelle spin-off where one can (could) create a perfect wine by mixing their different varietals, but sadly this is not in operation at present. And next is Club Orange, where we take breakfast some days.

Lastly, also on two and three in the MDR, main dining room. Whilst numbers are low, upstairs is where afternoon tea gets served, normally both levels are for all meals.

Heading back along three the Dutch Café has all manner of speciality cakes and treats.

From decks four through eight it’s almost only accommodation. On deck nine the Lido Market has stalls proving every possible kind of food for buffet consumption, from sushi, through salads, roast, fish, breads, sandwiches, pastas, Asian cuisine. It is literally the World’s smorgasbord. Oh and there are desserts!!

On this level is also the aft pool and the midships pool area, and Italian restaurant Canaletto.

Up on deck ten and eleven are other places I’ve not yet photographed, watch this space.

And finally, on seven is our special oasis, only for Neptune guests, a small lounge, dedicated concierges and food section. We are spoiled rotten!

Finally, we’re in Pinnacle of course, and here’s the amazing pork chop again. I needed to learn more, apparently the meat is Japanese, called Korobuta, but the breed is Berkshire - yep a little bit of England delivering the most extraordinary tasting chops!
