At Sea. Husband is busily packing. I don't do packing but even if I did, it would be wrong. Today was always going to be surreal ...

Last days are always odd - happy because we had a great holiday, sad because it's coming to an end, happy because we need to recover and de-tox, sad because we have to wait until the summer before we jump on a ship again, happy AND sad because in a week we're of to China, there's no rest!

Still, we managed to add 40 more laps and I watched three more cooking demonstrations and we both did the quickest galley tour ever - 6 minutes from start to finish.

Our total walking this holiday is 198.5 miles of serious walking, not counting all the too-ing and fro-ing around the ship. A quick Google tells me we expend around 80 additional calories per mile at the rate we walk, so that's about 16 thousand outbound calories we can feel pleased about. It won't balance the incoming ones but this is a holiday after all!

The last cooking demo is a disaster, clearly the host had not practiced this recipe so it turned as hilarious as you might imagine. She's good enough to blag her way through it but it was funny.

We repaired to our varandah for the last chance at Chardonnay and canapés which were great despite the deteriorating weather. And then got ready for our last evening. Drinkies at the Explorations lounge with piano and violin before going next-door to Pinnacle for our last dinner. We choose Bisque, Lamb and Volcano so all our favourites for tonight, plus a glorious Cab Sauv to compliment the Chard. Our girls are very emotional but we said our 'goodbyes' even though we will see them for breakfast.

The show tonight was an amalgamation of Juan Pablo the pianist, and Mark Donaghue the multi-instrumentalist. The former was better than last time, the latter was just stunning!

We met up with Penny and her husband and M'lissa and her friend, respectively Colorado-Irish and Perth-Crazy for the last show and had a great time. Don't even ask what a sidewinder has in it, but they are good!

We were amused to learn that stateroom (that's what they call cabins on ships) 28 is for "Colleen and John" next cruise, because we know a couple called that. But these two have differing surnames (gosh, how naughty?) so doubt if it's the ones we know in Oz. We hope they have as good a time as we had in number 28!
