At Sea. We started the morning rolling around a bit, nothing serious but the strongest wind/sea combination so far this holiday. As the day wore on it lessened, but as I write beyond midnight were still pitching and rolling a bit. Also as the day progressed it got steadily warmer and were now back into well over 20s air temperature thank goodness.
During our walks today we have concluded that were probably the youngest customers onboard, all the holidaying American families now having returned to school and work, it's just the oldies remaining - and us! Talking of waking we again clocked up eleven miles bringing our total this holiday to 94 miles in eight days.
Apart from walking all we've managed to do is eat and read, sitting in the lovely sunshine. Dinner tonight started out so well, with lobster bisque, crab cakes and lamb cutlets, but then once again the soufflé was a disaster. The MD is now on the warpath, but we remain sceptical - let's hope she can work some miracle with the kitchen staff. We've never experienced this problem before on any HAL ship so clearly something is amiss. Wine was excellent as usual, I've not mentioned this before, but their list is very good, mostly Calif, Oregon and Washington State wines, they have a very good selection mostly under $100. Of course some go a bit wild but I don't indulge in these. Tonight we had a particular favourite red - a Syrah called Sequel, and IT bods will appreciate the significance of this name.
We finished off with a repeat performance of the company show Bob Makie's Broadway which we saw last week. Once again it was a very good production, the eight singers and dancers really performing well, and together with the brilliant band, absolutely no evidence of a click-track which these days is only too common.
