Tenerife 2022 - Tuesday 15/02

I doubt any day we have is ever a quiet day, but it was a quiet start - up early, our first breakfast, then just doing work-stuff for a few hours, before we head up the hill to the old town of Adeje.

It’s leas than four miles and we could walk it but it’s up up up - 300m - so we decide to drive instead. Our destination is the hectic offices of Sotiven the estate agent we’ve been dealing with, who are doing all the change of account details today. So many services need attention - water, LX, alarm, phone, internet, refuge, community, council, parking (we have to pay for a double-yellow line to be painted in front of our drive every year,) gardener, pool man.

It makes us laugh that our house is still in the window, but we’re assured that this is a common estate agent’s trick, leaving interesting properties visible so as to entice people in to make enquiries.

It takes a while but eventually we’re sorted and wind our way back down, then head off walking to Callao Salvaje, the next town up the coast. It’s quite close and only takes 15 minutes, we just wander though a couple of neighbourhoods we previously looked at properties in November. It’s interesting to see one we looked at off-plan is starting to grow, but we’re satisfied we made the correct choice.

On our return we pop into a bar for a beer and sandwich, then home to do more work.

Early evening the in-laws arrive, brandishing several bottles of good cheer, and we settle down for a relaxing evening of great company, interesting conversation (even if we don’t understand all our young nephew’s ‘cold’ lingo) and a fabulous pasta bolognaise. It’s perfect luck that our dates coincide and they are able to join us.
