London season 2021 day 3

Maybe it’s mean to say I’m glad the weather was less good, but it’s been a very heavy working day without time for any walks longer than a mile.

With very little in the way of interruptions it’s been a full on day of project work, my current app development is coming on well, another three (and a half) screens completed today.

Hubby managed not to have many outside meetings, which is a mixed blessing, so we are mostly in our room, thank heavens for headphones, I couldn’t cope with all the chatter of Zoom and Teams all day like he has had to for the last 15 months.

We do manage a short walk up Islington to find lunch and sit outside a church to snaffle it before returning for the afternoon. Another good development session although ran into a bit of a catastrophe towards the end of the day, just the usual joy of software development.

A final short walk to Euston and back then we nip into the bar for a drink and snacks to tide us though the evening, before we change and head to the Wells for our last evening. Indeed it’s the last performance of our classical Dangerous Liaisons as we change to Contemporary Cuts for the remainder of our London season. Unfortunately we’re not able to stay for these performances.

We greet our few VVIPs tonight, catching up for the first time in 15 months with the handful here tonight, even a hug on this occasion with our favourite composer.

The performance is yet another cast and also a different conductor so the whole feel is quite different, but the different perspectives are what we really appreciate.

Finishing off with another quick hug goodbye, and also saying goodbye to those dancers returning to Leeds on a coach this evening, we head back up Islington to our stalwart Pizza Express..
