It was always going to be a funny day - the hideous weather overnight set the tone. I started with an unexpected lesson - don’t adjust the contents of the toaster when it’s turned on - it’s live and 240 volts - ouch!

Work crops up early with various urgent matters for both of us, but by 11:00 we are hitting the road, just local today as we don’t have much time.
The weather is better but still unpredictable so our walk is peppered with hail, rain and wind with the occasional glorious sunshine.
After lunch we both hit the computers for a couple of hours, Hubby on board matters, me on the national dance database which I created and have since administrated for the last 15 or so years.
We break for an hour to enjoy afternoo tea with friends over FaceTime before returning to work for a final hour.
Then it’s time to hit the gin, interspersed with family phone calls. Meanwhile I’m prepping for dinner - tonight reducing cider into a cream sauce, then constructing a chopped onion base, caramelised apples, and rosemary basted cider vinegar. Finally the wild boar fillet is basted in cider vinegar butter and baked for 10 minutes.
Interestingly cutting across the grain like a medallion is too tight, but cut along the grain the meat is juicy and luscious.
