We’re both totally worn out after five months of solid work, so we have booked a two week break from work. Haha - maybe!

Our plan is to not work actively except for those bits we can’t avoid. In Hubby’s case that’s a bunch of meetings he can’t get out of. In mine it will be more likely fixing unexpected issues as they occur - such as a teacher being unable to start their class first thing this morning - weird Zoomy things that come out of the ether sometimes.
Firstly we hit the supermarket - actually I’m merely the chauffeur, I do a few miles on the Pennine Way and phone a friend or relly whilst Hubby shops - then we the walk up to our local farm shop to buy meat for the week.
Started off the food prep for tomorrow - two items for sous vide which happily need the same temperature, so the ham goes in for four hours and duck legs for significantly longer.
Lunchtime beckons so it’s the first of our holiday menu - today is Club Sandwich - batter a chicken breast and fry it off, a couple of slices of bacon, toast some bread, assemble with lettuce, tomato and French dressed Mayo. Turns out nice, apparently.
After lunch it’s time to take the Christmas lights down. Yep I know, it’s two months late, but the first chance to do this and at least the weather is lovely.
It takes two and a half hours to strike the lights, just a quarter of the taken time to rig them, and as I finish afternoon tea is announced.
Finishing off my tax affairs whilst Hubby plays the piano, it’s soon time to start prepping for dinner. Nothing too special I quickly knock up a ratatouille and carrot soufflé to go with rack of lamb, and decant a fabulous Bella’s Garden - another stunning Aussie, this one from Two Hands.
